On 29th July 2016 the Grande Dame of Swiss luxury hotels celebrates 120 years of existence. To honour the anniversary as befits the occasion, the traditional hotel is presenting a story a month from its 12 decades of rich history throughout the whole year. Past memories are being brought back to life with exceptional events such as Afternoon Tea as it was 120 years ago or shimmering highlights such as the SFr 120’000 Package. Enjoying the new 1.2 Carat Cocktails created in collaboration with Graff Diamonds will make lasting memories for the future.

It is unbelievable, but true, Badrutt’s Palace Hotel has been welcoming the rich and beautiful through its doors for 120 years: To see and be seen, this motto still rings true today for guests of the iconic St. Moritz hotel. It is no wonder that stars and famous people such as Marlene Dietrich, Gunter Sachs, Audrey Hepburn or Alfred Hitchcock stayed here. It all began in July 1896 when Caspar Badrutt opened the Grand Hotel with the unmistakeable green tower, which became the landmark of this classic hotel. Today the luxury hotel is casting its eyes back over its colourful past, bringing it back to life again with thrilling stories from twelve decades of its history. January 2016 marked the beginning. The first story is about the evolution and building of the hotel as well as the Palace Tower and Caspar Badrutt’s grand opening, and how the hotel faired under his management during its first years. A further eleven exciting stories, also documented in photos, are waiting to be discovered and told, so that these unique stories will continue to live on in Badrutt’s Palace Hotel’s guests, friends, partners and the residents of St. Moritz once the anniversary year is over.

The Pastry Chef from the luxurious London Hotel The Goring ensures that this is the case when he pays a visit to Badrutt’s Palace Hotel in honour of the 120 year celebrations. He will let the team at the grand St. Moritz hotel into a few secrets about the great British teatime. Alongside a fine selection of teas and culinary surprises fit for the Queen, an afternoon of British humour awaits guests at the Afternoon Tea as it was 120 years ago.

For guests in search of more than an afternoon of tea and delicacies, there is the SFr 120’000 Package, created especially for the celebratory year and available for bookings throughout the winter 2015/2016 and summer 2016 seasons. On offer to guests of this package are the favourite highlights from the past as well as a colourful array of current day activities, leaving no wishes unanswered.
