Redefining Swiss Horology: LIV Watches
LIV Watches is changing the landscape by offering quality timepieces that are value for money. Founded by Sholom Chazanow (Chaz), the company got a boost for its initial project, the Genesis X1 (GX1) on Kickstarter. The brand was formed to fill a gap in the watch market for affordable Swiss made chronographs crafted from top quality materials.
At present, they have three collections to their name. Their flagship GX1, the GX1-A (automatic) and the GX Base, the latter two being the non-chronograph range which comes in an array of leather, rubber and canvas straps. Key features on these timepieces include Scratch Resistant Sapphire Crystal and 316L Stainless Steel Casing with screwed down case backs. They’re all water resistant to various depths and operate on Swiss Ronda 5040.D Quartz Movement except for the automatic series, which run on Sellita SW200 Swiss Automatic Movement. This timekeeper is durable and precise and is rather affordable for under a thousand USD.
Now, LIV Watches is back on Kickstarter to garner support for their next masterpiece, The Rebel. It retains all the quality features of its other models but with a breakthrough curved design that shies away from their conventional round faces—which is why its name is so apt. It also extends that genuine sapphire crystal to the skeleton caseback, which displays the inner workings that make the whole mechanism tick. The Rebel also pioneers LIV Watches’ automatic chronograph movement and comes in a limited edition. Every piece will be individually numbered and each iteration in the series differs by distinct features.
The Rebel-AC will have 12H Chronograph functions and a quick set window date display while the Rebel-DDC will showcase 3 Eye Chronograph with Day Indicator and the RebelGMT, 24 Hours Dual Time displayed by GMT hands.
