The success of the Singapore International Jewelry Expo (SIJE) that has sustained its presence in Singapore speaks volumes of the importance of Singapore as a jewellery hub for jewellers around the world. The presence of more than 220 jewellers from 26 countries at SIJE this year bears testament to this fact. The doors of this highly successful show will open again this year on July 26 for four days at the Expo & Convention Centre of the iconic Marina Bay Sands.

One of the reasons why the show is so successful is its ability to cater to a wide range of consumers. Whether you have a SGD200 budget or a SGD20 million budget, there is something for everyone at the show. The show carries in excess of US$150 million in jewellery.

Featuring the finest jewellers from all around the world, feast your eyes on rare ambers presented by Poland, emeralds by Columbia, rubies by Mozambique and Myanmar, and pearls from Japan. Visitors will also see a wide array of alexandrites, aquamarines, citrines, corals, diamonds, garnets, jade, opals, moonstones, peridots, sapphires, spinels, tsavorites, tanzanites, tourmalines, rubellites, and many more rare and exotic gemstones.

The show will present many highlights and investment pieces including a pair of pear shape flawless GIA graded diamond earrings of more than 5 carats on each side from Ivy Masterpiece, retailing at US$988,000.

Also from Ivy Masterpiece is a rare 20-carat D colour GIA-certified round diamond retailing at US$3.2 million, a 16-carat E colour GIA-certified round diamond retailing at US$1.9 million, and a 21-carat E colour GIA-certified round diamond worth US$1.5 million.

The star of the show presented by DeGem is an exceptional pigeon blood oval ruby, weighing over 15 carats, surrounded by old mine brilliant diamonds, set as a necklace. Top quality Burmese rubies are a rare find these days especially the ones that are more than 5 carats. This magnificent necklace is set to be a collector’s dream as rubies of this quality only very rarely come by in the market auctions. Rubies of this carat weight demand a value of not less than US$10 million.

Another showstopper piece which visitors will get to see is a rare fancy blue diamond by Mor Brothers Diamonds. It is one of the most exclusive intense colours of fancy blue radiant cut with a VS1 clarity weighing a total carat of 2.85. This piece was cut and polished by Mor Brothers.

The show has seen the growth of many designers over the years. One notable designer is Simone Ng of Simone Jewels. Simone celebrates a milestone anniversary with the launch of her new line Jouer by Simone at the show on Friday July 27, 2018 at 6pm.

Simone will also launch the Birds in Paradise collection by Simone Jewels. This stunning pendant is encrusted with a certified rubellite tourmaline weighing 3.57 carats, with 14 unheated blue sapphire weighing 1.32 carats. This exquisitely designed piece carries diamonds, white quartz carving and enamel, and strung up in two Akoya pearl chains.

Another notable designer is Michael Koh of Caratell. The star piece by Michael is a 16.41-carat emerald pendant, with 265 diamonds of 15.15 carats in total set in 18-karat white and yellow gold. The emerald is certified by GIA to be one of the largest Ethiopian emeralds the laboratory has examined as having no evidence of clarity enhancement.
