From Paris and Milan to London and New York, the fashion world has been abuzz with the newest trends and collections for men’s spring/summer 2019. At the top of everyone’s minds was Dior Homme and Louis Vuitton due to the hype surrounding their newly appointed creative directors—each bringing their own special flavour of creativity and distinct point of view. Fresh off the runways, here are 5 houses we couldn’t get enough of.

Louis Vuitton

From full whites and bright reds to rainbow hues and iridescent shines, LV’s new men’s artistic director Virgil Abloh showcased his reinterpretation of colour by putting forth well-tailored garments and cleverly designed accessories. With new takes on their classic monogrammed leather bags and an emphasis on the versatility of their sneakers, the collection proved to be a winner.

Alexander McQueen

In true McQueen street-suave eclecticism, pinstripes and chequered suits paraded the runway alongside leather and casual wear in dual tones and abstract prints. Vests in plain black or white also made an appearance together with asymmetrically accented coats in an array of dark earthy tones to form looks that were both sharp and urban.

Dior Homme

Dior’s 2019 line-up saw the label adhering to the timelessness of its design language. Flowy fabrics in sleek clean cuts brought out an understated elegance in shirts, jackets, casual shorts and dressier slacks. Pleasant shades of pastel whites and baby blues shared the spotlight with more conservative navy and a particularly unique blend of green, while floral and garden prints complete the classy collection.

Dries Van Noten

Dries Van Noten conquered the catwalks in a spectacular display of bold prints, funky patterns and a spectrum of colours. Revisiting retro styling cues, large psychedelic squares and thick curly stripes were a main feature including an unusual printed palm. Long summer coats were a highlight too, accompanied by short-sleeved collared shirts and a selection of tees and a black hoodie to round off pure magic.

Ermenegildo Zegna

Continuing the Zegna tradition of putting a debonair twist on smart casual, 2019’s spring collection by Alessandro Sartori promises cooler sartorial sophistication from the eponymous suit tailoring house. Famously fitted for style and comfort, accessories also took centre stage. Caps, sunglasses and bags galore make for a highly anticipated 2019 to come.
