St George, London’s Leading Residential Developer, Launches Cashmere Wharf at London Dock
St George, London’s leading residential developer, is launching Cashmere Wharf, a striking new centrepiece at the heart of London Dock in Wapping. Standing at 26 storeys and designed by renowned architects Patel Taylor, Cashmere Wharf offers beautifully crafted interiors, hotel-style amenities and expansive views across the Capital.
Comprising a mix of high quality homes, retail outlets, restaurants and landscaped open space, London Dock has seen a former working docks become an emerging vibrant residential neighbourhood in Wapping. London Dock is well positioned for residents to benefit from close proximity to some of the capital’s most famous landmarks including St Katharine Docks, Central London’s only marina, as well as the historic Tower of London and Tower Bridge. The iconic City of London, the world’s financial capital, is situated a stone’s throw away from London Dock.
Cashmere Wharf is the tallest building at London Dock and comprises 141 contemporary Manhattan, one, two and three bedroom apartments, with panoramic views across London and the River Thames. Each home has high quality interiors in addition to outdoor spaces including large terraces and balconies and a selection of apartments with winter gardens.
On completion London Dock will offer 7.5 acres of open space for relaxing or entertaining complete with tree-lined walkways, residents’ water garden and Gauging Square, a grand piazza animated by a striking choreographed water feature. Surrounding this focal point will be a collection of independent boutique restaurants, bars and shops for the residents and public to enjoy. Residents will also have exclusive access to onsite facilities including a state-of-the-art gymnasium and 20m swimming pool, complete with sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi, a squash court, private screening room, virtual golf suite and 24-hour concierge.
Marcus Blake, Managing Director, St George City commented: “The launch of Cashmere Wharf is an exciting milestone in the evolution of London Dock, providing a range of new homes complete with a variety of outdoor spaces for residents to enjoy. It has been designed to embrace its history and surroundings, drawing on the heritage of Wapping as a famous London neighbourhood. London Dock is designed to link in seamlessly with Wapping town centre as we curate an exciting destination with a mix of independent brands, high quality homes and landscaped public spaces.”
Pankaj Patel, Director, Patel Taylor commented: “This iconic building is designed to form a townscape marker to draw people. It draws people into a rich public realm of squares, gardens and promenades to open up this historically closed site to the people of Wapping. From a distance, the building presents a distinctive profile clad in glass, forming a wayfinding feature from Tower Bridge and the River embankment. The striking glass element complements the masonry context of the Tower of London and its architecture to the west, while the framed masonry element makes a reference back to the larger scale architecture of Canary Wharf and its towers to the east. Within London Dock, the building celebrates the public realm in the form of a granite colonnade, inhabited by vibrant uses and enclosing the significant new public space of Gauging Square.”
Wapping has recently gone through a major regeneration and is set to continue improving, with further development likely to continue benefitting the area for many years to come, making London Dock an attractive opportunity for owner occupiers and investors alike.
Situated in a prime location within a short walk of Zone 1 transport connections from Tower Hill and Aldgate, residents of London Dock are well-positioned to benefit from swift access across the whole of London. The Elizabeth Line (Crossrail) will also serve nearby Whitechapel, further opening up access to the wider Capital.
At the heart of London Dock is the Grade-II listed Pennington Street Warehouse which once stored many high-value goods imported into the docks. It will be the commercial centre of the development, brought to life with an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and offices.
The first phase of London Dock was completed in December 2016, with residents moving into their new homes in Clipper Wharf and the first of 6.5 acres of public space opened. This included the unveiling of Trading Words; a public art installation inspired by the historic lists of goods imported and exported via London over the past 400 years. Once complete, Trading Words will span the full length of the development and contain over 1,000 words.
Cashmere Wharf will be launching in Singapore on the weekend of 21st– 22nd April, with a selection of Manhattan suites and one, two and three bedroom apartments available from £670,000.
The launch event is at 10 Marina Boulevard #16-04, Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 2, Singapore 018983
