Following its successful Asian debut in Hong Kong in 2017, WatchBox, the leading global platform for pre-owned luxury timepieces, officially launched in Singapore with the opening of a WatchBox Lounge at The Great Room, Ngee Ann City. Striking a balance between technology and white-glove service, the Singapore office seeks to offer a personalised approach for watch buying, selling, and trading according to customer needs.

WatchBox has experienced tremendous growth across major global markets with its expansion strategy built upon developing a truly connected global marketplace and targeting geographic regions with a strong growth forecast for the luxury watch segment. With significant global presence in the United States, Hong Kong, Switzerland, South Africa, a recently announced presence in the Middle East, and plans to expand beyond, WatchBox is the trusted online destination for watch enthusiasts worldwide.

Central to its growth strategy, and one of the greatest differentiators that sets this digital luxury watch platform apart, WatchBox owns every single timepiece in its inventory and backs all watches with a 2-year global warranty. The watches are evaluated, authenticated, and brought as close to mint condition as possible with uncompromising value, before they are presented for sale, affirming a true WatchBox global quality standard. In total, WatchBox maintains the largest owned inventory of pre-owned luxury watches worldwide, including some of the industry’s most sought-after, discontinued, and otherwise desirable watches.

Fuelled by technology, innovation, and an unmatched experience in the high-end watch market, WatchBox brings expertise in the secondary watch market through its signature ‘electronic trading’ platform. WatchBox uses innovative technology, sophisticated data systems, a cutting-edge mobile app, and pricing transparency to build trust and credibility across an international following. Embracing advanced technology as its ethos, WatchBox recently introduced a key Augmented Reality feature in its mobile app that enables consumers to virtually try on select watches from the WatchBox inventory as well as an innovative in-store shopping experience to allow customers that visit the Lounge to shop the entire global inventory. WatchBox is also known for providing luxury watch education and entertainment through its WatchBox Studios division, which reaches over a half-million subscribers and 5 million monthly views on YouTube.

Co-Founders Danny Govberg of Govberg Jewelers and Tay Liam Wee—former owner of Sincere Watch—are contemporaries in the watch industry who share track records of having successfully steered multi-generation family businesses into the future. Danny’s vision and passion for both watches and technology enabled the evolution of Govberg Jewelers from a Philadelphia-based family business to one of the world’s premier authorised dealers of both new and pre-owned timepieces. Liam Wee experienced great success in the primary business, taking Sincere Watch public in both Singapore and Hong Kong. He recognised that pre-owned luxury timepieces were going to lead the next revolution in the watch industry, and joined Danny and Justin in conceptualising and launching WatchBox as the global solution to the pre-owned category.

Driven by industry veterans and technopreneurs who have come together to capture the opportunity in the pre-owned luxury market, WatchBox seeks to pioneer change in the luxury watch industry. Through the power of interactive technology, WatchBox is changing perceptions of owning and trading pre-owned luxury watches, and in the process introducing a new experience in horological discovery to engage and connect with a global network of watch consumers.
