Azzedine Alaïa originally presented the Relax yarn, a textile innovation by Florentine spinner Lineapiù designed to ensure comfort and to bring a sense of well-being, as part of the “Yarn of Serenity” in 1992. Now for spring-summer 2021, it has been revived in the exclusive ‘Relax’ collection.

The figure-hugging collection, all in black, is a sleek take on loungewear where comfort need not come at the expense of style. Each piece is made entirely from Relax yarn, which is composed of 6 per cent carbon fiber and 94 per cent ENKA viscose, made of FSC-certified cellulose sourced from wood obtained through sustainable forestry. The intended “relaxing” effect is given by the protection received from the compression of the garment. Like soft armor, this technical second skin reflects the expertise of the Maison Alaïa.

Net-a-Porter’s offering includes four “Relax” styles, in all Black stretch fabrications. Each piece is enriched with openwork and emboidered details, designed to hug, sheath, and enhance every body shape while allowing complete freedom of movement. Brilliant masterful skill is reflected in the precision of the finishing touches, in this sophistication cherished by the artisans of the Maison Alaïa

Libby Page, Senior Market Editor, Net-a-Porter, said “This exclusive collection is the sleekest take on loungewear and we wouldn’t expect anyone else other than Alaïa to deliver on such a chic yet comfortable collection. The words “relaxing”, “antistress”, “comfort” and “style” are exactly what we all need from our loungewear, and we are delighted to be able to offer these four pieces exclusively to our customers. ”
